Applications
Application Notes
Applications Validated by Active Motif:
WB: 1:1000-1:5000 dilution
Immunogen
This antibody was raised against the NEDD4 fusion protein.
Buffer
Purified IgG in PBS, pH 7.3, with 50% glycerol and 0.02% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
NEDD4 antibody (rAb) tested by Western blot.
Detection of NEDD4 by Western blot analysis 30 µg of C6 or NIH/3T3 lysates and probed with NEDD4 antibody at 1:5000 dilution.
Background
NEDD4 and similar proteins discovered subsequently became a family of HECT ligases, comprising 9 human proteins including NEDD4, NEDD4-2 (NEDD4L), ITCH, SMURF1, SMURF2, WWP1, WWP2, NEDL1 and NEDL2. NEDD4 is a highly evolutionarily conserved protein from yeast to man and was initially cloned as a highly expressed gene in the early embryonic brain. NEDD4 is frequently overexpressed in many different types of cancer, and decreased levels of NEDD4 can also be associated with cancer. It can be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of human cancer.
