Active Motif's Protease Inhibitor Cocktail is designed to prevent proteolytic degradation during lysis and extraction procedures from mammalian cells or tissues. The cocktail contains a broad-spectrum of inhibitors targeting cysteine proteases, serine proteases, aspartic acid proteases, and aminopeptidases. In addition to being ready-to-use, the Protease Inhibitor cocktail is also EDTA-free. The cocktail is supplied as a 100X stock solution in a liquid format that has been stabilized in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) for improved accuracy, solubility, and ease of use in comparison to traditional tablets. Applications
The Protease Inhibitor Cocktail is a broad-spectrum solution of protease inhibitors specific for cysteine, serine, and acid proteases, as well as, aminopeptidases. It has been optimized and tested for use with mammalian cell and tissue extract samples. It is recommended to use 10 µl of the Protease Inhibitor Cocktail solution to inhibit digestion of proteins for 1 ml of lysate. The cocktail does not contain phosphatase inhibitors. If necessary, phosphatase inhibitors can be added to cell and tissue lysates. Since protease levels may vary among cell and tissue types, it may be necessary to increase the concentration of inhibitors.

The Protease Inhibitor Cocktail is provided as a ready-to-use 100X stock solution in DMSO. The product is shipped at room temperature and should be stored at -20°C long-term. The Protease Inhibitor Cocktail is guaranteed stable for 6 months when stored properly.
