Immunogen

This MOF / MYST1 antibody was raised against a peptide within the N-terminal region of human MOF / MYST1 (MYST histone acetyltransferase 1).

Buffer

Purified IgG in PBS with 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.

MOF / MYST1 antibody (pAb) tested by Immunofluorescence.
Formaldehyde fixed HeLa cells stained with MOF / MYST1 antibody at a 1:2,000 dilution.

MOF / MYST1 antibody (pAb) tested by Western blot.
Whole-cell extract of HeLa cells (30 µg) probed with MOF / MYST1 pAb at a dilution of 1:500.

Background

MOF / MYST1 (ortholog of Drosophila males absent on the first (MOF), MYST histone acetyltransferase 1, Histone acetyltransferase KAT8) is a histone acetyltransferase which may be involved in transcriptional activation. Member of the MYST family of histone acetyltransferases. Contains a chromodomain and C2HC-type zinc finger motif. Component of a multisubunit histone acetyltransferase complex (MSL) at least composed of the MOF/KAT8, MSL1/hampin, MSL2L1 and MSL3L1. Interacts with ATM through the chromodomain and may influence the function of ATM.

Positive Control

Active Motif's HeLa whole-cell extract (Catalog No. 40050) can be used as a positive control for MOF / MYST1 antibody.

Chromatin IP Assays

This antibody has been validated for use in ChIP and/or ChIP-Seq, and can be used with Active Motif's ChIP-IT® High Sensitivity Kit or our magnetic bead-based ChIP-IT® Express Kits.
