Immunogen

This MRG15 antibody was raised against a peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human MRG15.

Buffer

Purified IgG in 70 mM Tris (pH 8), 105 mM NaCl, 31 mM glycine, 0.07 mM EDTA, 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.

MRG15 pAb tested by Western blot.
Nuclear extract of HeLa cells (20 µg) was probed with MRG15 pAb (1:500 dilution).

Background

MRG15 (MORF4-Related Gene on chromosome 15) is the homolog of the yeast Eaf3 protein and belongs to the MRG family of genes, which are involved in various cellular processes as cellular aging, positive and negative transcriptional regulation and DNA damage repair. MRG15 can be associated with both histone deacetylase and histone acetyltransferase complexes (such as the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, which is involved in transcriptional activation of select genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomal Histone H2A and Histone H4). MRG15, thus, potentially plays a role in both transcriptional silencing and activation. In addition to the more conserved MRG motifs, MRG15 also contains a chromodomain near the N-terminus.

Positive Control

Active Motif's HeLa nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36010) can be used as a positive control for MRG15 antibody.
