Background
UHRF1 (Ubiquitin Like With PHD And Ring Finger Domains 1, also known as Np95, hNP95, ICBP90, RNF106, TDRD22, hUHRF1, huNp95) is a member of a subfamily of RING-finger type E3 ubiquitin ligases. UHRF1 binds to specific DNA sequences, and recruits a histone deacetylase to regulate gene expression. UHTR1 plays a major role in the G1/S transition by regulating topoisomerase IIΑ and retinoblastoma gene expression, and functions in the p53-dependent DNA damage checkpoint. UHRF1 is overexpressed in various cancers. UHRF1 plays a critical role in maintaining DNA methylation in mammalian cells.
Application Notes
This protein is useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling.
Protein Details
Recombinant UHRF1 protein was expressed in E. coli cells as the full length protein (accession number NP_037414.3) with a C-terminal 6×His tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 93.1 kDa.
Storage
Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80°C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
