SIRT1 mAb (Clone 2G1/F7) tested by Western blot.
Nuclear extract (20 µg) of CMSL0 cells stained with SIRT1 mAb (Clone 2G1/F7) at a dilution of 1 µg/ml.

Background

SIRT1 (Sirtuin 1, SIR2L1) is a member of the Sirtuin family of proteins related to the yeast Sir2 protein. Like Sir2 and other Sirtuins, SIRT1 is an NAD-dependent histone and protein deacetylase. SIRT1 catalyzes the removal of acetyl groups from a variety of protein substrates (NBS1, p53, Ku70, etc.) as well as from Histone H4 Lys16. SIRT1 is involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes, including transcription, metabolism, DNA repair and aging, and increased SIRT1 is associated with extended lifespan of C. elegans.

Positive Control

Nuclear extracts from CMSL0 cells can be used as positive control for SIRT1 antibody (Clone 2G1/F7).

Chromatin IP Assays

This antibody has been validated for use in ChIP and/or ChIP-Seq, and can be used with Active Motif's ChIP-IT® High Sensitivity Kit or our magnetic bead-based ChIP-IT® Express Kits. For an overview of all of our ChIP products, please visit our Chromatin IP Page to learn about ChIP products designed for use with SIRT1 antibody (mAb).
